STAR PREVIEW Mon: Tottenham Hotspur v Everton
Nothing is ever certain in football and tonight’s Monday Night fixture between Tottenham Hotspur and Everton is a hard betting heat.
A price of 8/13 doesn’t appeal about the hosts, who have been notoriously inconsistent under Antonio Conte. A 3-2 win at Manchester City and a 4-0 win at Leeds were sandwiched by a 1-0 defeat at Burnley whilst Tottenham looked insipid when deserved knocked out of the FA Cup by Middlesbrough, and this despite playing a strong side.
Frank Lampard’s Everton have also been hit and miss under Frank Lampard, with three wins and three losses in six games under the former Chelsea man. Their three wins have all come at home – the latest being against Boreham Wood in the FA Cup when the non-league competitors made life very awkward for the Toffees.

They could rightly be aggrieved not to have gotten something from a good performance against Manchester City, when an unfortunate Michael Keane mistake made the difference and Everton were very unlucky not to get a penalty when City midfielder Rodri appeared to commit handball late on, but apart from that Lampard has only overseen wins against an out of shape Leeds side and Brentford in the FA Cup.
With Dominic Calvert-Lewin not back to full fitness – even though he might be available for this game – and Everton struggling for goals at the moment, they don’t make appeal to cause a shock even though they might well have the advantage in midfield if Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Donny van de Beek can press as hard as they did against City.
However, it’s hard to know what to expect from both sides and Harry Kane could be the difference maker here. Kane has looked back to his best recently, combining with Son Heung-Min to break the all time record for goal contributions in a partnership, and he looks to have benefited from the arrival of Dejan Kulusevski, with the pair linking well in wins against City and Leeds.
If Spurs are on a good day, then he’s likely to be involved and as a penalty taker, he makes appeal at 13/5 to open the scoring tonight.
