STAR PREVIEW Sat: National League Betting Tips
It is set to be another exciting weekend of non-league football and, as ever, we have you covered with our betting tips!
Chesterfield v Southend United
15:00 National League
In one of the most intriguing matches on paper this weekend, Chesterfield will be looking to make it three wins in a row when they face in-form Southend United at the Technique Stadium on Saturday.
After a small wait for Paul Cook’s first win since returning to the club, Chesterfield beat Yeovil Town 1-0 last weekend and followed that up with an impressive 3-1 win over fellow promotion-chasers Notts County on Tuesday which leaves them on the coat-tails of league leaders Stockport County.
Southend United are one of the form teams in the division. After a tough start to the campaign, which resulted in the sacking of Phil Brown, Kevin Maher has completely turned the Shrimpers’ fortunes around. They have won four of their last six in the National League and have risen to 12th in the table.
This has all the ingredients for a really tasty afternoon of National League football. We’re backing both teams to find the back of the net in this one.

Grimsby Town v Woking
15:00 National League
After a worrying slide in form, Paul Hurst seems to have Grimsby Town back on track and they’ll be looking to continue that upturn in form when they are visited by managerless Woking on Saturday.
The Mariners have won four of their last six National League fixtures – which included an impressive 2-1 away win at Notts County – which has put them right back into the promotion picture.
Woking, on the other hand, after a poor run of form that had seen them win just two of their last ten fixtures, decided to part company with manager Alan Dowson this week after three years in charge.
Although sides can often expect a bounce after the departure of a struggling manager, Woking are yet to select Dowson’s successor and it’s hard to see things improving too much until a decision is made.
We think this should be a fairly comfortable afternoon for a Grimsby side who appear to be back on track in the league. We’re backing them to win to nil on Saturday.

Aldershot Town v Stockport County
National League
17:20 BT Sport 1 / BT Sport Ultimate
In the televised game of the weekend, Aldershot Town face the tough task of stopping rampant league leaders Stockport County when the two sides face-off at the EBB Stadium on Saturday.
The Shots are enduring a slightly sticky run of form with just one win from their last six league fixtures. After the new manager bounce from Mark Moseley producing an upturn in form that made it appear like they could be safe from relegation, Aldershot have slipped back down to 20th and need to arrest this slide.
Stockport are fighting at the other end of the table and are currently three points clear at the top of the table, but with sides like Chesterfield, Wrexham and Boreham Wood breathing down their necks. They are showing no signs of slowing down, though, and have not lost a league fixture since 11th December.
Aldershot have shown that they are good for a goal – with both sides scoring in four of their six fixtures – but we don’t see them as the side to stop Stockport’s unbeaten run. We’re backing Stockport and both teams to score.
