STAR PREVIEW Sat: National League Betting Tips

It is set to be another exciting weekend of non-league football and, as ever, we have you covered with our betting tips!

Dover Athletic v King’s Lynn Town
15:00 National League

In a battle at the bottom, already-relegated Dover Athletic take on 21st-placed King’s Lynn Town at the Crabble Athletic Ground on Saturday afternoon.

Last week’s remarkable collapse against Wrexham, in which they somehow managed to lose 6-5 after leading 5-2 in the 63rd minute, really rather summed up the season of Andy Hessenthaler’s hapless Dover team.

They are still yet to reach 0 points – having been deducted 12 points in the summer – and have lost 28 of their 34 league matches so far this season; conceding an incredible 82 goals in the process.

King’s Lynn have fared better but still find themselves in a desperate situation; third from bottom in the National League with 24 points from 35 matches and seven points adrift of safety.

After last week’s debacle at Wrexham, it’s pretty clear that Dover’s main weaknesses lie in defence. However, they have proved that they are capable of finding the net at the other end so goals should be on the menu here. We’re backing over 3.5 goals.

Barnet v Yeovil Town
15:00 National League

Yeovil Town, still reeling from the sudden departure of manager Darren Sarll to Woking in the week, will be led by interim coach Charlie Lee for their trip to Barnet at the weekend.

Sarll, who had been in charge of the Glovers for nearly three years, announced his resignation shortly after Yeovil’s 2-0 win against Southend United last week with Woking snapping him up as their new boss on a two-year contract.

This will have shaken Yeovil who had been on decent form; winning their last three games and lifting themselves to 12th-position. Former Glovers player Lee, who had only retired from playing last season, is the man tasked with guiding Yeovil through to the end of the season.

After a testing season for Barnet, the Bees’ fortunes have changed in recent weeks and they also find themselves on a good run of form. Dean Brennan’s side have won three of their last four games and are 8th in the National League form table over their last six games.

Although both sides are coming into this one in good form, the loss of Sarll is likely to affect Yeovil and, therefore, we fancy Barnet to get the three points in this one at 17/10.

Boreham Wood v Woking
National League
17:20 BT Sport 1 / BT Sport Ultimate

In the televised match of the weekend, Boreham Wood take on Darren Sarll’s Woking in his first match in charge of the Cards.

Since their heroic FA Cup run came to an end at Goodison Park at the beginning of this month, Boreham Wood’s league form has suffered with Luke Garrard’s team without a win in their last five games.

Woking sacked Alan Dowson in early-March after a run of just two wins in 14 games and Sarll is the man now tasked with trying to make sure that Woking’s end to the season is a strong one as they look to re-build for the 2022/23 campaign.

We think there is a chance of a new manager bounce here with Sarll having got off to a strong start at the beginning of his spells with Stevenage and Yeovil and are backing a double-chance of a Woking win or a draw at 17/20.
