STAR PREVIEW Sat: Southampton v Manchester United

Manchester United will be looking to keep the momentum going after their win over Liverpool earlier in the week when they make the trip to St Maryโ€™s Stadium to face-off with Southampton in the lunchtime Premier League kick-off on Saturday.

After two humbling and embarrassing defeats in their opening two fixtures, not many people were backing Manchester United to get a result against Liverpool at Old Trafford on Monday night.

But, with Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire and Cristiano Ronaldo all dropped to the bench, Erik Ten Hagโ€™s side proved the doubters wrong with goals from Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford helping United to a 2-1 victory over their old rivals from Merseyside.

Ten Hag will also be able to integrate new addition Casemiro, signed from Real Madrid this week, into his midfield for this game with things suddenly looking a lot rosier for Manchester United.

Anthony Martial could also be in line for a return to the starting XI after impressing off the bench against Liverpool.

Southampton have had a mixed start to the new season; winning one, drawing one and losing one of their first three Premier League fixtures.

A second-half brace from Che Adams – who now looks set to stay at Southampton after recent speculation heavily linking the striker with a move to Everton – helped the Saints to a 2-1 comeback victory over struggling Leicester City last week.

Romain Perraud is back in training following a groin issue which will come has a huge boost for manager Ralph Hassenhuttl as he looks to secure back-to-back victories and bring the Red Devils back down to Earth after their recent win over Liverpool.

There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Southampton’s last eight league games and we are expecting that theme to continue here. We are backing over 2.5 goals but with Manchester United picking up from where they left off and securing another victory.
