STAR PREVIEW: Southend United v Sheffield United (SKY)
[dropcap]I[/dropcap]t might ‘only’ be Southend United v Sheffield United tonight but at least it’s not another Friendly.
After last night’s collapse of England (I was on England HT/FT) at Wembley hopefully tonight’s action at Roots Hall might be a little more predictable.
However, it has the look of mid-table mediocrity with the teams in 12th and 13th (and both locked on 55 points) in League One but both must cling to the hope that by taking all three points they can at least keep them in touch of a play-off place. Certainly, a draw would be a disaster for both of them. The winning side would move within six points of the play-off zone.
The pair met for the first time in 18 years at Bramall Lane in November with them fighting out a 2-2 draw – and all the goals scored in the first half.
Southend have no new injury or suspension problems but will be without their new signing Franck Moussa as he recovers from a knee injury.
Sheffield United boss Neil Adkins is hopeful that Paul Coutts will be fit again after he was substituted during Friday’s win against Crewe.

It’s time for one of these two sides to make a move but I’m unsure which one. I think it will be very tight and tactical and want to be UNDER 2.5 goals at around 4/6 with Star Sports.
