STAR PREVIEW: Stoke v Spurs

[dropcap]S[/dropcap]trange things are happening in the world of sport at the moment.

The Bank Of Barcelona are not paying out anymore, Jordan Spieth squandered a five shot lead in the US Masters and Leicester are not winning every single Premier League game they play by a margin of 1-0.

Leicester’s late equaliser against West Ham may yet prove to be priceless but all of sudden a glimmer of light has appeared and Tottenham have the chance to take advantage at the Britannia tonight.

Leicester’s problems were compounded today by the news that Jamie Vardy has been charged with improper conduct by the FA for his behaviour following his dismissal against West Ham. It could mean he gets an additional suspension to the one game from his red card.

This won’t be the easiest game for Spurs tonight as a trip to Stoke is never easy but if they can get through this they will take heart from their run in which includes a visit to London neighbours Chelsea who are woefully out of form:

25 Apr HOME West Brom
2 May AWAY Chelsea
8 May HOME Southampton
15 May AWAY Newcastle

But first up is Stoke and for those rushing to take odds-on tonight bear in mind that the reverse fixture ended 2-2 at White Hart Lane and Stoke won both matches against Spurs last season.

Stoke’s manager Mark Hughes said: “There are five games to go and we want to finish in the right manner. Three at home, two away-we have a great opportunity to achieve things. It is Monday night under the lights at the Britannia. We are really looking forward to that.”

Spurs will take a considerable boost from the expected return of Harry Kane who has overcome a dead leg and Clinton Njie has also recovered from his knee problem.
