STAR PREVIEW Sun: Arsenal v Tottenham

Tottenham travel to Arsenal for one of the most famous old derbies in English football with Arsenal searching for their third win in a row and Tottenham looking to avoid a third consecutive defeat.

There would have been a lot of soul-searching for Mikel Arteta and his Arsenal players after that crushing 6-0 defeat to Manchester City a couple of weeks ago, but they have responded in the perfect way.

Neither win was as comfortable as perhaps they would have liked it to be, but victories against Norwich City and Burnley were the tonic for Arteta’s men to inject some much-needed confidence into the club.

Despite some initial criticism upon the announcement of his arrival, Aaron Ramsdale is already looking like a good signing for the future. He’s kept two clean sheets in his first two Premier League starts for the Gunners and will now be looking for a big performance in his first North London Derby.

After a very promising start to the season under new boss Nuno Santo Espirito, Tottenham’s form has started to stutter over the last couple of Premier League gameweeks.

They suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of ex-Arsenal man Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace and were then comfortably beaten by Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea by the same scoreline a week later., emphatically ending Nuno’s honeyman period at the club.

Spurs have now slipped down to 7th in the table and will be aiming to push themselves back up the ladder with a victory over their old rivals at the Emirates. Harry Kane, despite enduring a slow start to the new campaign, will be the man they’ll be looking towards for a big performance.

It is very difficult to split these two sides with both clubs going through something of a transitional period this season. Therefore, we’re backing the draw with both sides likely to be content with a point at this stage of the campaign.
