STAR PREVIEW: The Open – Final Round
[dropcap]I[/dropcap] was tempted to have a few more Open bets today but will leave it to fate.
I’m in a great position with my three ante-post bets (bar Stenson):
4 points JORDAN SPIETH 6/1 (currently 5/2)
4 points JASON DAY 33/1 (currently 7/2)
4 points HENRIK STENSON 22/1 (currently zillion)
Final groups tee-off times:
1350 Retief Goosen (Rsa), Justin Rose
1400 Sergio Garcia (Spa), Jordan Niebrugge (a) (USA)
1410 Marc Leishman (Aus), Padraig Harrington
1420 Jordan Spieth (USA), Jason Day (Aus)
1430 Louis Oosthuizen (Rsa), Paul Dunne (a)
It’s a massively compact leaderboard so anything could still happen and at the moment it’s those pesky amateurs that are threatening to spoil the party for me. The early evidence is that there are some good scores being made today which hopefully will favour those with experience and take some of the randomness out of the equation.
Still, with the combined forces of Spieth and Day (rated around a even money chance by Star Sports that one wins) I’m hopefully in for an exciting afternoon and fingers crossed a profit come around 6.30pm tonight.
RECOMMENDED BETS (scale of 1-50 points)
