STAR PREVIEW Thurs: Shriners Hospitals for Children Open

Whisper it golf fans, The Masters is just over a month away. In the meantime let’s head to Vegas for some gambling and golf. After some real testers of late, TPC Summerlin is a 7255 yard Par 71 birdie fest. The winning scores over the last few years have been into the 20’s under par.

The wide generous fairways and accessible greens are easy pickings for the pros, so expect to see a sea of red on the leaderboard. It’s a stronger than usual renewal of this event this year, but as always I am seeking out value, rather than the red hot favourites like De Chambeau.

Blue Horseshoe Loves:

Aaron Wise – currently at 90/1 with

Wise played really well last week in Mississippi. It’s been a long drought of form for someone who so much was expected of a couple of seasons ago when he first won on tour. But it looks like his game might be flickering back into life. If it is, he definitely has the tools to go on and win here.

Patrick Cantlay – currently at 16/1 with

Cantlay won this event in 2017 and he is more than capable of winning this event again if he starts well. He will be very keen to notch another win as it’s been a while since his last victory.

Cameron Smith – currently at 80/1 with

Smith showed that he is returning to form leading up to the US Open. At this all together easier venue, he could thrive at great each way value.

Henrik Norlander – currently at 125/1 with

Norlander had a storming final round last week, finishing inside the top ten. This former U.S. college golf star has got bags of potential and he is clearly starting to get comfortable with life on tour. A soft course like this could be great for a confident young Norlander with his tail up.

Scottie Scheffler – currently at 28/1 with

I really like this guys game. His string of high leaderboard finishes last season saw him named rookie of the year. It’s not if, but when, he picks up his first tournament. A birdie track like this could be just the venue for him to open his account.
