STAR PREVIEW: USA v Jamaica

[dropcap]L[/dropcap]ive football action tonight on BT SPORT with the first semi-final of the CONCACAF Gold Cup 2015 between USA and Jamaica.

USA turned on the afterburners with a 6-0 win over Cuba on Sunday in the quarter finals and face a Jamaican side who have kept a clean sheet in their last three matches of which they have won all of them 1-0.

USA are the defending champions and have a good head to head record over Jamaica (see stats below) but there is seldom much to choose between the two sides.

Jamaican coach Winfried Schaefer said of his side who have reached the semi-finals for the first time in 17 years: “It feels like David against Goliath. That’s fine with us. We will try to hit the giant where it hurts the most.”

USA boss Jurgen Klinsmann said: “Beating Jamaica and going on to win the trophy was important as it would ensure qualification for the 2017 Confederations Cup. Every game in this tournament is a battle and we definitely expect a battle against Jamaica.”
