STAR PREVIEW Weds: Roma v Feyenoord
Few managers have as many trophies as Jose Mourinho and he could add another one in the shape of the Europa Conference League with victory against Feyenoord in the final tonight.
Roma’s first season under the ‘Special One’ has been a mixed bag, with the Wolves earning just one more point in total on the last campaign but also securing a place in the Europa League group stages and reach the final of this competition.

Roma have also improved defensively, conceding 43 goals during this campaign compared with 58 the season before, and that could be vital in tonight’s big game against a free scoring Feyenoord side.
Arne Slot’s attacking approach has been rewarded 76 goals in 34 games in the Eredivisie, and they’ve found the net frequently in the Europa League too with on-loan Genk striker Cyriel Dessers scoring ten goals in the competition and Colombian forward Luis Sinisterra also finding the net six times.
Their 3-2 win at Marseille was arguably stronger from than Roma’s 2-1 aggregate victory over a disappointing Leicester side, but Roma have arguably had the better season in a stronger league and bring quality to the table in the shape of Tammy Abraham, Nicolo Zaniolo and Lorenzo Pellegrini.
Abraham has thrived in Italy with 27 goals in all competitions this season – including nine in the Conference League itself – whilst Zaniolo has combined excellently with both Abraham and Pellegrini going forward, making for a trio that can put Feyenoord’s defence under serious pressure.
The Dutchmen are probably facing the strongest defence they’ve met so far – including the veteran goalkeeper Rui Patricio – but they’ve kept just one clean sheet in their last 11 European matches and Roma could be too strong for them at both ends.
