STAR PREVIEW: Wells Fargo Championship

At over 7,400 yards Quail Hollow has a reputation as a tough, long-hitters course where driving length is prized over driving accuracy.

That being said the final three holes at Quail Hollow, otherwise known as ‘The Green Mile’ is often cited as one of the most demanding final stretches on the PGA Tour.

Putting and scrambling are also two important factors when making any selection around this long, demanding track.

Blue Horseshoe loves Rory McIlroy to feature here again this week. He won the event in 2015 with a stunning twenty one under par effort that saw some of the finest golf ever seen at this venue. That sort of course form and the fact that Rory is bombing it a mile with the driver this year puts him right on top of our selection list.

As Rory is the favourite 6/1 with we are taking him for the win only, while the other three represent good value each way selections.

Gary Woodland 28/1 with has been deeply impressive this year with a win and a string of high finishes. His driving game is one of his strongest assets and he is a very good chance to be there at the business end of proceedings on Sunday.

Sam Burns 100/1 had a strong finish at the RBC Heritage the week before last. His form is trending in the right direction and the course suits his long hitting game. The only concern is if he can keep out of trouble on the green mile.

Ollie Schniederjans 150/1 with is another player not lacking in length. His putting and scrambling game is also solid and Blue Horseshoe remains convinced that there is a big finish in Schniederjans this year at great odds
