STAR PREVIEW: WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational

G‘day golf fans! It’s a fairly short and sweet preview this week as I’m on a little break. Even Bluehorses have to holiday sometimes.

After the Olympic men’s golf event last week the PGA is back with its first event being a WGC no cut invitational event – The Fedex St. Jude invitational from TPC Southwind in Memphis Tennessee.

The Fedex St. Jude Invitational
TPC Southwind, Tennessee, United States
Live from 5.30pm on Sky Sports Golf on Thursday

Daniel Berger – currently at ? with

Berger is the ultimate form horse at this course with two wins a missed cut and a second at TPC Southwind since 2016. He produced one of the rounds of the day on Sunday at the recent Open Championship and even though he is plenty short for me odds wise, I still think his track record here, his recent form and the fact that he is fresh from not going to the Olympics points to another strong showing.

Robert MacIntyre – currently at ? with

Another player who played well at the Open and didn’t go to the Games, MacIntyre has quickly established himself as one the PGA tour’s exciting new prospects with a series of good performances. I think a small field no cut event like this makes the young Scotsman great each way value at triple figures.

Max Homa – currently at ? with

I feel like Homa is a player that the bookies continue to underestimate and in a small field no cut event his price this week just looks flat out wrong to me. Homa, this season’s Genesis Invitational winner, has climbed to number 40 in the world through a series of solid performances. With the way he drives and putts, his better than 100/1 price just might end up proving to be crazy good each way value come Sunday.

KH Lee – currently at ? with

I was very impressed by the style and manner, KH Lee won the Byron Nelson Classic this season. It was his maiden PGA Tour win, but he looked like he’d been out winning on tour for ten years. Lee seems to play TPC courses really well and his most recent PGA Tour start was a very soild tied sixth at the 3M Open. I think Lee is stonkingly good each way value here.
