STAR SPECIALS: Jerusalem The Hot Favourite For English National Anthem
[dropcap]B[/dropcap]espoke bookmakers Star Sports have installed Jerusalem at the stand out favourite for the English national anthem, currently being debated in the House of Commons. Backing calls by Chesterfield MP Toby Perkins for England to have its own anthem, Star Sports make it just a 2/1 shot that the bill will get the go-ahead.
Star Sports Spokesman Luke Tarr said “The Scots and Welsh have their anthems and we support the campaign for we English to have one too. We’re odds-on that God Save The Queen remains the English anthem, but as the union becomes increasingly divided this could be the perfect time for England to go its own way and install a bit more national pride!”
He added ”Jerusalem is our HOT favourite, and would be sure to rouse our sports heroes wearing the English shirt. Land Of Hope and Glory would be a great anthem too, but if Corbyn gets in we might have to cut that 200/1 for The Red Flag!”
