STAR SPORTS GREYHOUND DERBY: David Mullins kennel visit

The Mullins name is synonymous with greyhound racing, a family steeped in history and success, including Dad, Pat Mullins winning the English Derby in 1978 with Lacca Champion.

His son, David Mullins has already won a Derby this year, the Puppy Derby at Monmore and he now heads to Nottingham with a real contender, backed up by a very nice supporting team.

Monmore Puppy Derby winner Troy Zico began his racing career as a Romford grader but has gone from strength to strength in the hands of David Mullins. The youngster has only had 12 races to date but here David tells us why he believes he has enough experience to handle a Derby and why Nottingham will suit him.

Here David tells us why he thinks Noelles Phelpso has the attributes that will be required for the Greyhound Derby at Nottingham. Plus why he is very happy with where the dog is at with just four weeks to go.

Piemans Bullet has taken on and beaten the best in his career, including last years Star Sports Derby Champion Dorotas Wildcat. Now a veteran, and highly rated as a hurdler, he was most recently seen hurdling in the heats of the Grand National! But now, all roads lead to Nottingham.

This is a dog that could be anything. He has literally only had one race for David, a flying 24.14 qualifying trial around Romford. David doesn’t have much time to get him ready for the Derby but there is no doubt the dog can run!
