Star Sports Greyhound Derby – Qualifying Round ruled out

PRESS RELEASE:

We are proposing, in the interests of welfare and common sense, to dispense with running a qualification round.

To provide some compensation to those greyhounds who may finish third in any 2 dog qualifying heat. We are proposing the following solution:-

(i) The greyhound is eligible to become a travelling reserve for the second round. Any travelling reserves that subsequently do not take part in the second round will receive £750 compensation.

(ii) The order by which reserves will be chosen, will be based upon their seeding and depending on how many seeds are subsequently eligible, a draw will take place to determine who runs in the second round.
