RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann has emerged as the 9/4 favourite to replace Jose Mourinho at Tottenham Hotspur with Star Sports.
Mourinho’s sacking was announced on Monday morning after a run of poor form which has left Spurs in seventh position, and the north London side could look to make a move for Nagelsmann, who has been a hit with Leipzig fans in the Bundesliga.
Leicester manager Brendan Rodgers is next in the betting at 8/1 alongside Ajax boss Erik Ten Hag and former Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri, who is currently out of work.
Eddie Howe, who has been linked with the Celtic job, can be backed at 12/1 for a return to the Premier League with Spurs, while departing German coach Joachim Lowe is the same price. Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is 14/1 to take the Spurs hotseat.
Luke Tarr, Head of PR at Star Sports, said: “Tottenham’s decision to sack Jose Mourinho just a few days before their Carabao Cup final against Manchester City comes as a shock, but already there are big names on the list to replace him.
“Julian Nagelsmann leads the way and is favourite at odds of 9/4 to take the Spurs job, while Brendan Rodgers, Erik Ten Hag and Massimiliano Allegri are all possible options too at 8/1”
