STAR WORLD CUP PREVIEW Thurs: Spain v Austria
Spain take on Austria in the World Cup round-of-32 on Thursday in Los Angeles, writes JOE CITRONE.
Spain topped Group H but have not always impressed as much as expected, needing a Alex Baena winner to see off Uruguay after that opening stalemate with Cape Verde.
Austria have been the tournament’s great entertainers, somehow surviving a six-goal shootout with Algeria to sneak through as Group J runners-up.

Austria’s 3-3 shootout with Algeria showed both the good and bad of Rangnick’s side – direct, dangerous, but leaky at the back.
Spain’s class should eventually tell, but with both defences there to be got at, I fancy goals at both ends here. Over 2.5 goals looks the way in with Spain winning.
