Sticking with the unbeaten pair

Somerville Tattersall Stakes

Newmarket
3.40pm, C4 and RUK

GOING FAST BUT TOUGH AT NEWMARKET

Newmarket’s Cambridgeshire meeting gets underway this afternoon on fast ground at HQ.

Autumn racing can be tricky – just look at the opener – a field of 18 and most of them are well-bred debutants.

There were no strong betting clues for the race in our Star Sports mid-morning market update (also available on our site) so good luck if you can find any angles in.

The Somerville Tattersall Stakes at 3.40 is the best race of the day, a Group 3, and a competitive look to the market.

Richard Hannon’s Championship has to be respected as the trainer has won the last two runnings of this and I think there’s a little bit of value to be had in backing the two unbeaten colts God Willing and Silent Bullet.

Both are around 9/2 so with 5 points on each hopefully we can make up for the rather disastrous football recommendation last night.

God Willing battled well to won on debut at Newbury whilst Silent Bullet’s two successes have both come at Haydock over today’s seven furlong trip.

STAR FORECAST
(stake between 0.5 and 10 points)
5 points win GOD WILLING at around 9/2
5 points win SILENT BULLET at around 9/2

IT’S WHY WE GAMBLE ON SPORT

America’s Cup winner Sir Ben Ainslie has hailed his team’s “amazing” comeback and hinted at a British assault on one of sailing’s toughest competitions.

The Olympic hero was drafted in as tactician by Oracle Team USA ahead of race six with the squad in the doldrums.

The crew had won just one race to Emirates Team New Zealand’s four and at one stage were 8-1 down.

However, they rallied to win the Cup 9-8 in a thrilling finale that captured the imagination of sports fans the world over.
