Striking whilst the summer is hot

Silver Flash Stakes
Leopardstown 7.000
TIME: 7.00pm, ATR

A nice winner for the column last night with Argent Knight (WON 5/2) who stayed on well to win the final race at Sandown with Madame Vestris, the 6/4 favourite, back in third.

Today the word of the day for punters has to be MULTI-TASKING. Or at least ensuring fresh batteries are loaded in the remote control, and the phone of course standing by on speed dial to Star Sports.

The Ashes, The Open and Tour De France align for a fantastic day of summer sport. It really doesn’t get any better.

As stated previously in the column I’m with the Aussies in the 2nd Test and will have a look at the Open from the halfway stage after the cut.

But for today’s bet it’s back to the racing which has been kind to us this week with a winner at Killarney on Monday and last night’s Sandown success.

There’s a Group race at Leopardstown tonight, the Silver Flash Stakes at 7.00 and here Heart Focus looks the one to take on favourite Wonderfully with.

Jim Bolger’s Heart Focus finished in front of Wonderfully at Royal Ascot and I see no reason for that form not to be confirmed.

(stake between 0.5 and 10 points)
5 point win HEART FOCUS (7.00 Leopardstown)

(+12.50 points Wednesday)

Most 90-year-olds try to avoid big falls but one grandmother has had a rather big one – from 13,000 feet in fact.

Else Bak and her 80-year-old husband Asger, from Denmark, went skydiving for the first time thanks to a gift from their son.

“The experience was even greater than I expected. Wonderful,” Mrs Bak said after the jump. “Absolutely lovely.”

Mr Bak was also thrilled with the experience: “Lovely,” he agreed, as he hugged his ecstatic wife.
