➡️ This week, Star Sports announced that they are offering a greyhound derby double bonus! If the winner of the Star Sports Derby at Nottingham goes on to win the Irish Derby at Shelbourne Park, they will pocket an extra £50,000! What an amazing, extra incentive for the lucky winner in May. Well done again Ben Keith! LATEST STARSPORTS.BET GREYHOUND MARKETS

➡️ Kevin Hutton said this week that he will put his Puppy Classic runner-up Headford Ranger forward for a place in the Racing Post Juvenile. Ranger was behind Ice On Fire on that occasion and a rematch is one that Hutton would relish, with his dog just coming back from a lay-off. The plan is then for him to head to Nottingham for the Star Sports Derby, before being stepped up to six bends. He is currently 100/1 for the derby. LATEST STARSPORTS.BET GREYHOUND MARKETS

➡️ Last year’s Star Sports Derby runner-up, Ballymac Tas, went so close to proving that bitches can win erby’s and there is a nice crop around ahead of this years renewal. This week, Carl Perry tweeted to say he was ‘delighted’ with Geelo Blissful’s comeback trial at Sheffield. She clocked 27.62sec on normal going. If the kennel can get her spot on when it matters, she could be one to keep an eye on. Outright she is 100/1. LATEST STARSPORTS.BET GREYHOUND MARKETS

➡️ Star Sports took a big ante post bet this week on Deanridge Sirius. The dog caught the eye of many when in Ireland and now in the hands of Alison Ingram, he’s subsequently posted a promising time in a sprint trial at Nottingham. He is 80/1 for the Derby. LATEST STARSPORTS.BET GREYHOUND MARKETS

➡️ It’s the Hove Winter Derby final on Saturday night and Liz and Rab McNair will be double handed after their King Lennon beat Chris Akers bitch, Sonic Spur in a run-off after the two of them had tied for the qualifying spot in their semi-final. The McNair’s King Sheeran was the fastest winner clocking 29.27sec and goes into the final as the favourite priced at 4/5 with Star Sports. He has an ideal draw to work from in his preferred trap 6. Should he oblige, his price for the Derby may well shorten. The other semis were won by Mark Wallis’s Antigua Romeo (9/2 to win the final) in 29.73sec and Heather Dimmock’s Make No Apologie (4/1 to add the Winter Derby to his CV) in 29.51sec. ➡️ There was no disputing the fact that heat five of the Golden Jacket would have been worthy of a very good final. And so true to form, it produced the fastest heat winner in Antigua Fire. He clocked 44.95sec (+30) and is now the ante post favourite with Star Sports at 10/3. Veteran Goldies Hotspur and Skillful Sandie took the qualifying spots with defending champion, Stardom getting a bumpy ride round and sadly going out. Goldies Hotspur is 20/1 and Skillful Sandie now 13/2 ante post. Mark Wallis landed a hat-trick with Antigua Rum (now 7/1) taking the first heat and Avastorm (now 14/1) also obliged. ➡️ Shotgun Bullet may be a veteran now but he absolutely loves Crayford having won the 2018 Golden Jacket and making the final last year and he is still a force to be reckoned with. He won his heat on Saturday night after breaking well in heat two. The kennel have announced he will be retired come what may after this competition. It would be fitting if he could make the final again. This week, assistant trainer, Maria Ansbro, posted a video on social media declaring he is making sure he gets his five-a-day ahead of his semi-final race! The apple-loving dog is now a 16/1 chance. ➡️ Roxholme Poppy was another heat winner and eye-catcher after battling for most of her race with Desperado Dan, the bitch eventually prevailed in what is only her second race since seasonal rest. Expect her to really come on for that run. She is now the second favourite at 11/2. LATEST STARSPORTS.BET GREYHOUND MARKETS
