🗣️ What are the big storylines heading into this year’s Greyhound Derby? 🐶

💬 “We have to start with Queen Joni ( ? ) bidding to be the 2nd ever bitch to win the derby. Hailing from the powerful Liz McNair kennel, she is already a 4 time category 1 winner with the latest being in the Brighton Belle at Hove last month. Having her first trial here 10 days ago to prepare for the derby she broke the track record and has been well backed to be only the second ever bitch to win the derby. “The other main talking point will be Graham Holland’s bid to win a hat trick of derby’s after Gaytime Nemo last year and Romeo Magico 2 years ago. He brings over a team of 12 and all have trialled nicely over the last few weeks headed by Clonbrien Treaty ( ? ).”

🗣️ What are the unique challenges dogs face running in a Derby at Towcester? 🐶

💬  “Towcester is a good challenge and will test the best of dogs. They will need to show early pace to hold a good position as it is hard to come from behind but also the 500 metres is a strong test so you will also need to stay.”

🗣️ In your opinion what makes a Derby winner? 🐶

💬 “As above you need a dog with early pace and one that can stay. But with it being 6 rounds you will probably need a slice of luck along the way as well.”
