💬 For you, what makes The Masters different from all the other Tournaments?
The fact it is the only Major played at the same course makes it iconic and the way Augusta National has been developed and evolved over the years just adds to the mystique.
Calling the viewing public ‘patrons’ and many other little idiosyncrasies all add to the unique/greatness of the event. Even the awarding of a jacket rather than a trophy. A tradition that has since been repeated in a few other tournaments over the years.

💬 What is your favourite Masters memory?
Probably Tiger’s first win. The fact that a young man, despite already being a special talent at the age of 21, could do what he did against a world class field was quite extraordinary and that was after shooting a 4-over-par 40 for his first 9 holes! He played sublime golf for the remainder of the tournament and to win by 12 shots at a major is almost unheard of.
Also his total of 18 under par has only been bettered since by Dustin Johnson when the tournament was played later in the year because of COVID.
💬 Which players could go well this year and why?
I think Bryson DeChambeau could finally get his hands on a green jacket. Famous for saying that Augusta National was only a par 67 to him, when he was going through his grip it and rip it phase, I think he has got that monkey off his back now and is a quality golfer.
He has since won 2 US Opens to go alongside 6 top 10s in his last 12 majors which crucially includes a T6 & T5 here at Augusta. He has won back-to-back tournaments on the LIV tour and comes here in arguably the best form of life and as a more complete player. I will be very surprised if he does not contend late on Sunday evening.
I would have added Brooks Koepka to my portfolio as I have for many years thought he was a perfect fit for Augusta but his putting was woeful recently and that is not what you want coming into The Masters.
Robert MacIntyre has established himself as one of golfs elite players over the last few years and came nail bitingly close to winning last years US Open. He is a complete player and the strongest part of his game when on song is his short game and putting, two assets crucial to a successful week in Georgia. He could give punters a good run for their money at around the 40/1 mark.
Another European in top form at the moment is Nicolai Hojgaard. 3 top 6 finishes on the PGA tour from 7 starts this season include a recent second to Gary Woodland in Houston.
An aggressive player who may well take to Augusta National (he was T16 on debut) he figures highly in many of the top key stats, namely Strokes Gained Total, Strokes Gained Approach to Green and Strokes Gained Putting. Again at decent odds around the 100/1 mark you could do a lot worse.

💬 Who are you comfortable to lay this year and why?
It has to be the world No.1 Scottie Scheffler. Despite being a 2 time winner he just has not quite looked himself recently. A couple of poor first rounds recently gave him too much to do to win events and he has only broken 70 once in his last eight rounds on the PGA tour.
If he is not on form from the get go at Augusta, he may again find himself with too much work to do to get back into contention. At the current available price, I would like to ‘get him in’!

💬 Any markets or offers to look out for at Star?
As well as being competitive on the main market and the usual supporting markets, we will have boosts and specials around many of the popular players.
We will be running our “Star Player” offer pre-tournament, so if you back a player to win the Tournament we will give you a second randomly drawn player to hopefully win you Free Bets throughout (T&C link)
One new market for 2026 will be “Birdie or Better” on hole 1, where you can back players (single or multis) to score under par for the first hole (Tea Olive).
