We Are The Champions (to be sung in French)

CIRRUS BY DEFAULT

I’ve tried but failed to try and get Cirrus Des Aigles beaten today.

Everything about him and his price suggest he’s one to take on but the cards appear to have fallen firmly in his favour today.

I don’t think he is the horse he once was, but at seven-years-old that’s only to be expected – but I do think he’s still good enough to win the QIPCO Champion Stakes for a second time – now that the rain has fallen and there’s no Frankel standing in his way this time.

He finished a length and three quarters second to the mighty Frankel last year in what turned out to be Frankel’s final race and there is considerable doubt this season as to the level of Cirrus Des Aigles form as he’s met with several defeats in lesser races than today.

However, he appeared to put those behind him with a convincing win in the Prix Dollar at Longchamp last time out.

He still seems to be priced on last year’s form rather than this years but that’s the premise on which I started and I couldn’t find anything to beat it.

So I’m singing We Are The Champions, in French.

I WANT TO RIDE MY BICYCLE

On the subject of Queen music, a cyclist has been branded a “dummy” for trying to ride his bike on the M1 alongside cars travelling at high speed.

Police were called by concerned drivers who saw the man riding along the hard shoulder in heavy rain and strong winds.

The culprit was spotted riding south towards London near Junction 9 at Redbourn in Hertfordshire at around noon on Sunday.
