With none of the horse racing ‘specials’ standing out, I’ve landed on the 5-2 about Viktor Gyokeres joining Manchester United. Ruben Amorim signed the 26-year-old Swedish international for Sporting Club and will, no doubt, be keen to be reunited with the prolific striker.

As an Everton fan, I have monitored Gyokeres for a long time – with Everton regularly linked with him prior to his move to Portugal – and with Manchester United struggling for form, Amorim will be keen to put his own stamp on the side during 2025. It seems a logical move for both parties, with Gyokeres sure to be keen to head back to England and prove himself in the Premier League.

I had my first trip in a Tesla before Christmas. An Uber Tesla no less. Apart from embarrassing myself by struggling to open the door, it was an eye-opener more than it was a door opener. This isn’t just about an electric car – this is about completely redefining motoring. Even as a passenger, it seems really odd to see the traditional dashboard replaced by a giant tablet. I think the electric car revolution is only just on the starter course and there will be a surge before long.

You can take or leave megalomaniac owner Elon Musk, I’ll leave thanks for asking, but his new found friendship at the very top of the US political pyramid can’t but help his business causes.
