PRESS RELEASE: Corbyn’s new party expected to outperform Greens at next election

Jeremy Corbyn’s new political party are priced at 66/1 by Star Sports to win the most seats at the next general election.

The new left-wing party formed by former Labour leader Corbyn and independent MP Zarah Sultana, expected to be named Your Party, are ahead of the Greens (500/1) in the market and given a price of 200/1 to form a majority government.

Reform UK remain favourites to win most seats the next time the nation heads to the polls (6/5), narrowly ahead of Labour (6/4), with the Conservatives (5/1) a distant third in the betting.

William Kedjanyi, Political Betting Analyst at Star Sports, said: “With 500,000 sign-ups after just five days, it’s clear that there is a lot of enthusiasm behind Zarah Sultana and Jeremy Corbyn’s new party.

“While it has yet to be registered, polling from More in Common has found that a Corbyn-led party could hypothetically poll up to 10%, with YouGov also suggesting that 18% of Britain’s would consider voting for such a party.

“That clearly puts them in the political conversation and, ahead of their registration, Star Sports are happy to be the only bookmaker offering a price of 66/1 for ‘Your Party’ to win the most seats at the next general election, from 100/1. They are 200/1 to win an overall majority.

“It’s evident that the new party can win seats – Corbyn himself won in 2024 as an independent, and Sultana would likely be competitive following her decision to leave Labour. Given the way things have gone, they look likely to take some defectors from the left of the Labour party and, if they can stay out of the way of the Greens – especially if Zack Polanski takes them in a more left-wing direction – they could do reasonably well.

“British politics is rather fractured at the moment, and with arguably four parties now on the left of centre, the splintering of the popular vote could stop any hopes of a majority government.”
