Hackney Corner (4/1) sponsor’s worst position; favourite Ballymac Deniro (2/1) a good result

Flynn Goward, Managing Director at Star Sports, said: “Hackney Corner (4/1) is the one we’re really hoping to get beat in Saturday’s Star Sports and Orchestrate English Greyhound Derby Final. He’s by some way our worst result on the book and would hit us for six figures were he to triumph.

“He might be the oldest dog in tomorrow night’s field, but experienced handler Pat Buckley looks to have his contender peaking at the right time following a fine semi-final success, where he got the better of Ballymac Ralf by four lengths.

“Ballymac Deniro (2/1) has clocked the fastest times in the final and is a worthy favourite, but a win for Liam Dowling’s dog would be a good result on the book for us. His kennelmate, Ballymac Duffle, is not far behind in the market at 9/4, and would also be a fair result, with Ballymac Ralf completing the Dowling trio at 9/2.

“Lennies Eddie, a small loser on the book, is the outsider of the five at 8/1 and looks to need to raise his game if he’s to win.”
