It’s been a mixed bag of results for Mansfield so far. They were thrashed 5-0 by Reading but showed their attacking potential by putting five past Luton Town. They also come into this one on the back of a hard-fought 2-1 victory over newly-promoted Bromley, a result that should provide them with confidence.

As for Oxford, rookie manager Aaron Ramsey has done an impressive job given the circumstances. The club were hit with a summer transfer embargo that prevented them from registering new signings, but the players who remain from their Championship days have proved more than useful. The academy has also helped fill the gap, with young winger Mo Missanga catching the eye in the early stages of the season.

In their most recent outing, the U’s battled to a 2-1 victory over Notts County, with Mark Harris and Cameron Brannagan finding the net. They’ll now be looking to build on that result and make it two wins in a row on their second trip to Nottinghamshire in the space of a week.
