ALEX CROOK PREVIEW: England v Czech Republic

England are aiming to round off the extended international break in style when they welcome Group C whipping boys Czechia to Wembley tonight, writes ALEX CROOK.

⭐️ ENGLAND VS CZECHIA MARKETS ⭐️

The Three Lions should be full of confidence after thrashing Saturday’s impressive 7-0 rout in Croatia and are very short-priced favourites to make it three wins on the spin.

In truth, it could have been a perfect four for Thomas Tuchel to silence some of his post-World Cup critics, but for Harry Kane missing a penalty when England were leading Spain 2-1 in their opening game.

Tuchel’s men bounced back from that disappointment with an eventual 2-0 victory in Prague but had to be patient with both goals coming after half-time.

Czechia were well in the contest before Pavel Sulc’s needless 25th minute red card reduced the hosts to ten men.

However, the visitors have now lost five of their past six games and should be no match for their hosts if they are anywhere near as good as they were at the weekend.

Tuchel seems to have hit upon a perfect formula for his front four and even with the quick turnaround between games, it would be a surprise if we didn’t see Harry Kane, Jude Bellingham, Anthony Gordon and Bukayo Saka all start again.

That might lead to recriminations from club managers, especially after Bournemouth’s Alex Scott was forced to withdraw from the squad with an injury picked up BEFORE playing 70 minutes in Croatia.

Ezri Konsa has also returned to Arsenal for treatment, so it is likely that Trevoh Chalobah comes in to partner Marc Guehi at the heart of defence.

It is another landmark night in the incredible career of Kane as the England captain equals Peter Shilton’s record of 125 caps.

Kane is as close as there is to a guarantee to net for a fourth game in a row and even the 9/5 with starsports.bet to score the first goal looks well worth a go.

I don’t think we will see another seven-star show as Czechia will be far less open than Croatia so England to win 3-0 at 11/2 with starsports.bet could represent some value.

England have won three of their last four clashes with Czechia without conceding and the absence of Konsa is not enough to put me off backing England to win to nil at 3/4 with starsports.bet.

We know the Czechs can be very combative, so my build-a-bet is both teams to score, no, over 2.5 Czechia cards, over 7.5 corners and Harry Kane to score which returns 9/1 with starsports.bet.
