Interview: NATHAN HORROCKS Raised in Kenya by his father Alan Horrocks, Nathan sat on his first horse at 16, rode 60 jump winners whilst based with Nicky Hammond, rode Attraction, Shamardal and Double Trigger at home, before doing the same with Many Clouds and then winning an international award with a film about the 2015 Grand National Winner. He also created the successful Equine Productions in 2013.

In Part One filmmaker Nathan Horrocks tells us about how he ended up riding Many Clouds from the age of five, and the story behind the scenes of the Many Clouds documentary. We also discuss his early experiences with the jockey cam, including safety improvements that have been made since the kit’s creation. He also recalls the creation of Equine Productions in 2013.

We discuss the inspiration that he took from American director Stacey Peralta, the importance of realism in Racing Production, what other horses he’d have liked to film through their lives, and what he’d change in racing given the chance.
