Interview: SOPHIE RALSTON: Sophie is a jockey who won the Racing Excellence Apprentice Training Series in 2018 and then, following a lack of opportunities, wrote a letter to the Racing Post asking trainers to take a chance on her and give her more rides. Ralston, who has been with Epsom’s Pat Phelan since 2012, has lost her claim, spent time race riding in Cyprus and also competed in the 2019 Women Jockeys’ World Cup against the world’s best female riders, winning leg three.
