VICTOR DARTNALL (part 1 of 2)
Victor Dartnall talks about his early life, his father missing his best years fighting the Germans but returned only to break his back riding and then still rode winners afterwards. His own career riding point to points and amateur races then starting training in Devon but not without a run-in with the powers that be at the beach!
VICTOR DARTNALL (part 2 of 2)
Victor Dartnall continues his interview talking about how difficult it is to get ‘horsemen and horsewomen’ to ride out. Why banning pony racing was a very bad policy and the effects rippled through to modern day racing. He has some money saving ideas for racing, why do the BHA have to be based in London for example? He has very strong views on horse welfare which he airs in no uncertain terms.
