SIMON NOTT: Epsom Saturday Off Course Report

3:40 – Investec Oaks (Fillies’ Group 1) (Class 1) (3YO only) 1m 4f

The Oaks and the Derby on the same day promised a Saturday afternoon of spirited betting, First up the Oaks which saw plenty of money for the favourite Love including bets we can give you, £24,000 – £20,000, £11,000 -£10000, £6000 – £5000, £15,000 -£12,000 topped up by several grand and two grand bets. There were fortunes in smaller sums which accumulatively made the race an absolute disaster with no chance from a long way out.

Love ridden by jockey Ryan Moore wins the Investec Oaks at Epsom Racecourse.

4:55 – Investec Derby (Group 1) (Class 1) (3YO only) 1m 4f

The Derby on the other hand was a cracking result with Serpentine making all to win at 25/1, that despite Bill Esdaile tipping the winner in the ‘Zoom Room’, https://www.starsportsbet.co.uk/zoom-room-epsom-derby-day/

Bets included Mogul £28,000 – £3500, Vatican City £20,000 -£2000 each-way, £16,500 -£1500 each-way, Kameko £6000 – £2000, £6666 -£2000, £8000 – £2000, English King £9000 – £3000 x2 £6666 – £2000, £6666 – £2000 each-way, £4000 – £1000, £3500 – £1000, Highland Chief £16,000 – £1000, Russian Emperor £12,000 – £2000 all of which stayed in the hod.

It was a weird day, especially not being at Epsom for the Derby meeting, we’ll see you all on the rails at Epsom next year, more results like Serpentine then then too please! Roll on being back on the turf.
