COVENTRY CITY v NEWCASTLE UNITED PREVIEW

It was a nightmare start to life in the Premier League for Frank Lampard’s Coventry City, who lost their opening four matches without scoring a single goal. However, there were signs of improvement against Nottingham Forest, and the Sky Blues now have something to build on as they look to find their feet in the Premier League.

They could also be boosted by a couple of timely returns, with Milan van Ewijk and Kaine Kesler-Hayden both working their way back to fitness and pushing for a place in Lampard’s starting XI.

Newcastle United responded well to their dismal 4-1 defeat to Leeds United, getting back to winning ways against Hull City in their last outing. An early double from Joe Willock and Lewis Hall did the damage at St James’ Park, giving the Magpies a much-needed boost ahead of their trip to Coventry.

A win here would see Matthias Jaissle’s men climb to fourth in the Premier League table, which would represent a very solid start to the campaign.

WHERE’S THE BETTING VALUE IN COVENTRY CITY v NEWCASTLE UNITED?

As much as that much-needed win at the City Ground will have given Coventry City a real lift heading into and throughout the international break, I’m still not entirely convinced it marks the start of Lampard’s men clicking into gear and putting together a strong run of results.

Newcastle United look stronger in pretty much every department and, barring that disastrous result against Leeds United, have started the Premier League campaign in decent fashion.

At 11/10 with starsports.bet, I think an away win represents good value in this Coventry City vs Newcastle United clash and will be my tip for Monday Night Football.
