There was a managerial casualty in the top-flight of non-league football this week with Ian Culverhouse departing King’s Lynn Town after they suffered their eighth successive league defeat last week at the hands of a rejuvenated Aldershot Town.
Dover Athletic ended their remarkable losing streak in last week’s round of fixtures when they nicked an unlikely point off in-form Yeovil Town, whereas the battle at the top between Chesterfield and Boreham Wood was put on pause with both of their matches suffering postponements.
Despite the FA Cup causing some postponements in non-league, there is plenty more for lower-league fans to get their teeth into and, as ever, we have the full lowdown. Here are our betting tips for the upcoming weekend’s National League action!
Grimsby Town v Dagenham & Redbridge
15:00 National League
Grimsby Town face-off with Dagenham & Redbridge in an intriguing-looking clash between two sides who both got off to flying starts to the National League season, but have since stumbled and struggled for form.
Paul Hurst’s Mariners raced into an early lead at the top of the National League, but Chesterfield, Boreham Wood and FC Halifax Town have since charged past them as Grimsby’s form started to fall apart.
They have lost four of their last six league fixtures, slipping fourth-place in the division, and could really do with a win to kick start their season before the pressure begins to mount on Hurst.
Dagenham’s form has followed a similar trajectory and they currently sith second-from-bottom in the form table, collecting just three points from their last six league outings and slipping well away from the promotion race.
Both of these sides need a win to get their season going again and, for that reason, an open and entertaining affair could well be in the offing. We’re backing both teams to score in this one.

Aldershot Town v Altrincham
15:00 National League
Mark Molesley has really turned the fortunes of Aldershot Town around since being appointed manager in mid-September, alongside former boss Terry Brown joining as his assistant, with the Shots securing three successive victories.
Altricncham, on the other hand, have struggled for form of late; winning just one of their last six fixtures and conceding 11 goals in the process. The wind is very much in the sails of their opponents at the weekend and Altrincham may well struggle against this newly-rejuvenated and confident Aldershot team.
Once again, just as we did last week, we’re fancying Aldershot strong under the stewardship of their new boss and are backing them to pick up another three points on Saturday afternoon at the EBB Stadium.
